The Artist - Maddy Sargent
Maddy Sargent is an award-winning Illustrator and Designer, living in rural Northamptonshire (UK) with her young family. Maddy has always been a ‘maker’ at heart, and uses her fine scalpel skills to cut out her beautiful paper illustrations.
Born in London, and raised on the Sussex coast in St Leonards - some of her favourite memories as a child are of drawing her cats and making stop motion family films. As an art student, she spent many hours browsing the dusty antique shops of the Hastings Old Town - poring over old record sleeves with their beautiful typography, and the fuzzy bright technicolour of vintage photographic books. These sparked a love of colour and texture that carried through to form her illustrative voice today.
Maddy studied Illustration in London at Middlesex University where she won First Prize in the D&AD Awards for her interactive window designs for the famous Hamleys Toy Store.
After graduating, she began her work as a freelance Illustrator & Designer and has worked with brands such as Orange, Harper Collins, EE, Howies & Skype but to name a few.
Inspired by friends and family - her designs celebrate the colourful moments of everyday life.
Maddy Sargent Studio has a style all of it’s own.
